Hello from Innisfil, ON

Hi folks,

Thanks for accepting me into the group. I'm looking forward to learning more and purchasing my first luxury watch this year. After countless videos (e.g. Teddy Baldassarre, Brent Miller Time, etc) I narrowed it down to Breitling Superocean 42 or a Tag Glassbox reverse panda. I realize they are completely different watches but I work an office job and just want a watch I love to look at. Tried them on at a store in Newmarket and leaned towards the SO...I struggled with the retail price given the movement so I thought I'd try my luck at finding one pre-owned in a reputable place like this. Look forward to chatting more!

Breitling preowned is a solid plan!

Welcome to the forum. Two rules: never pay retail, and never pay above retail. I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for here, or an alternative. Cheers! J

Welcome to the group my friend. Best piece of advice when buying pre-owned luxury timepieces is to buy the seller. If you get a feeling that this “deal” might be too good to be true, it most likely is. Make sure to do reference checks to make sure it’s a safe and smooth transaction.

All the best!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and friendly advice! I've been reading the guides which are incredibly helpful.

I think I will start by dealing with sellers well-known within the community...it might help ease me into the butt-clenching idea of sending a big etransfer to a stranger and crossing my fingers I get a watch in the mail lol

I bought my first Omega Seamaster through a vendor in Japan on eBay. I must admit it was nerve racking but it had all the papers, box etc so that reassured me. I took it into a bricks and mortar Omega dealer here in Ottawa and confirmed it was legit thankfully.
I just this week purchased an Omega Speedmaster for another Japanese seller and have learned that Japan has a very good reputation about being trustworthy so would do it again if the need arose.
Welcome!

This is actually really good to know because I was going to purchase a tag from a Japanese dealer for some reason they denied my card even though there is funds on there for some other security reasons I'm not sure why but now I really want an IWC or a Zenith and I'm looking to purchase it maybe in Japan if I can't find a really good deal on here at some point
