Deciding to part ways with this old girl. Since I have a mid-modern Speedmaster I'm looking to diversify my collection. Ive had this for approximately 2 yrs and was purchased on here from a longtime member.
This is a cool transitional reference that was in production for I believe only 1 year in 1968.
All the beauty of the 321 Speedys with the cal. 861 movement.
Watch was serviced by an Omega trained watchmaker locally once I acquired the watch and is running very well.
When I received the watch all of the lume had been removed at some point in its very long life by one of the owners, I'll assume long ago when it was deteriorating and before the appreciation for patina had become popular. When the watch was being serviced I had the dial and hands professionally re-lumed with new old stock tritium lume from Horoluma in Germany https://horoluma.com
As can be seen by the photos the watch has had a colourful life as it has been polished in the past (not sure how many times) and has two minor blemishes on the dial between 8 & 9 o'clock and another between 4 & 5 o'clock. Ive tried to highlight them in the attached pics but because of the zoom it comes out grainy.
All parts are period correct but I can confirm the bezel (which is a period correct DON) and caseback (also period correct) were sourced.
Ok, so now with the ugly parts out of the way the great thing about this old girl is it's not collector grade and can actually be worn and enjoyed and not kept in the dark in a box. This is a great wearable piece without worrying about scratches and the like.
I can add more pictures on request for serious inquiries.
Im asking a very reasonable $5500 for her.
As for trades, no multiples. Two I'm particularly interested in are Pelagos 39 and Breitling Aerospace.
