Hey all - up for sale is my Aquastar 63 dive watch from the early to mid 60s. i recently purchased this watch because i really like the vintage look and great quality of the watch... i've worn it a bunch in the last few weeks and for whatever reason i just don't seem to be bonding with it.
these watches were produced from 1963 to the early seventies. the movement and serial number would indicate that this is a pretty early example.
watch has a unique internal bezel that rotates with crown movements... if you use the crown to set the time just push the crown back in and rotate the bezel to zero it wherever you like.
overall, the watch is in very nice condition. watch has the rare quality of looking quite different depending on how the light catches it. great signed case back.
dial - excellent original condition. lume has the same patina on the dial and hands.
movement - A Schild 1701. working flawlessly (see timegrapher photo below). semi quick set date. previous owner told me the watch was serviced a couple years ago but i have no way to verify that.
case - stainless steel. 37mm in excellent condition. 19mm lugs. radial brushing is not original.
crystal - domed acrylic. small scratch at around 2 o'clock.
crown - generic replacement. i have sourced a period correct crown that i will include with the sale of the watch.
asking $700 shipped. I have the watch on a 20mm cordura strap that i will include if the buyer wants it. any questions or requests for additional photos don't hesitate to PM me.
