It has now been 23 years since IWC released its modern 46.2mm Big Pilot. It is a watch that is as iconic in the watch industry as you can get. When it was released it took the watch collector world by storm. Big and bold, with a 7 day automatic movement. If you had one, you were very lucky (and wealthy!). Secondary market sales occurred as fast as they were listed. Dealers didn't discount them, in fact they rarely could get enough to meet their demand.
There have been many variations made over the years in all manners of case material. The rarest material of them all has been titanium, in fact in all of these 23 years there have only been 3 (46.2mm) models produced, and all very limited even if not in number.
I have all 3, and they are all part of my personal collection. This collection is being intentionally shrunk to account for life in retirement... which is imminent...
This example was from the heritage line that was put out in 2017 along with the bronze edition (which was limited)... Mine was purchased new in 2019, and it has been in my colletion since 2020. At one point I had 11 Big Pilots in my collection, and as such it has seen limited duty.... you can probably count on your fingers and toes how many times it has seen the great outdoors.
Warranty is still in place until September, 2027.
It is still in mint condition, in fact the orange sticker is still residing in the center of the deployment clasp. The weight of the titanium makes this watch incredibly comfortable to wear, even as a daily... nothing at all like the steel and (gulp) gold ones. The finish is almost bead blasted in appearance and is extremely durable and scratch resistant. Darker gray color could be grade 5 titanium.
MSRP is $18,500. Now officially discontinued.
Priced at $11,985 on your wrist fully insured to any address in Canada.
Please message me with any questions.
Cheers,
