For sale is my Zenith Pilot Chronograph Cronometro Tipo CP-2 Ref. 03.2240.4069/21.C774, one of the finest modern interpretations of a military pilot's chronograph ever produced. Inspired by the legendary Zenith Cairelli CP-2 supplied to the Italian Air Force in the 1960s, this limited edition beautifully combines vintage military aesthetics with Zenith's world-renowned El Primero movement. The model was produced as a limited edition of just 1,000 pieces worldwide, making it an increasingly collectible and difficult watch to find.
Housed in a beautifully proportioned 43mm stainless steel case, the watch features a matte black dial with oversized luminous Arabic numerals, cathedral-style hands, bi-directional rotating bezel, and perfectly balanced twin-register chronograph layout. Every detail pays tribute to the original military-issued CP-2 while offering the reliability and finishing expected from a modern luxury timepiece. The result is a watch with incredible wrist presence that remains comfortable enough for everyday wear.
This example is in excellent condition and has been very well cared for. The case, crystal, and bezel present beautifully, and the watch functions exactly as it should. It keeps excellent time, the chronograph operates crisply, and everything is exactly as you would expect from Zenith's flagship chronograph movement.
Powering the watch is the legendary Zenith El Primero Calibre 4069, one of the most celebrated automatic chronograph movements ever produced. Beating at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz) and offering approximately 50 hours of power reserve, the movement delivers exceptional precision along with the smooth sweep that has made the El Primero famous among collectors.
The Cronometro Tipo CP-2 has become something of a modern cult classic. With its authentic military heritage, limited production, and iconic El Primero movement, it represents tremendous value compared to many other heritage chronographs.
